About Bootstrap

Bootstrap is a free and open-source collection of tools for creating websites and web applications. It contains HTML- and CSS-based design templates for typography, forms, buttons, navigation and other interface components, as well as optional JavaScript extensions.

Bootstrap makes front-end web development faster and easier.

According to the Bootstrap website:

Bootstrap is the most popular HTML, CSS, and JS framework for developing responsive, mobile first projects on the web.

Originally named Twitter Blueprint, Bootstrap was developed by Mark Otto and Jacob Thornton at Twitter as a framework to encourage consistency across internal tools. Thus, you'll often hear Bootstrap referred to as "Twitter Bootstrap".

On August 19, 2011, the project was renamed from Twitter Blueprint to Bootstrap, and released as an open source project. It has since become the most starred project on GitHub.

Here, you'll find tutorials and examples to get you up and running with Bootstrap.
